Where Can I Buy Honda Transmission Fluid

I own a '03 Hyundai Elantra, '07 Ford Five Hundred, and a '07 Mazda CX7. All 3 vehicles claim the transmission is "Lubed for life", I choose not to adhere to that kind of neglect. I do a drain and fill of the transmission case on each vehicle when I change the engine oil. I'm able to drain 3-3.5 quarts of transmission fluid out of each of them, so it ends up being about 3 quarts of fresh fluid mixed in with 3 or so quarts of old fluid left in the torque converter. After doing that a few times the fluid is now always nice and clean. The Hyundai and Mazda both have slightly over 200,000 miles, the Ford has 240,000. They all shift nice and smooth. I also run Maxlife ATF in a 94 F150 with a 4r70w, and a 96 F350 with a E4OD. It works just fine in both of them as well. Of course they're both conventional and serviceable automatics. I get about 30,000 miles out of the fluid and filter in either of them, granted they're hauling or pulling something 95% of the time.

where can i buy honda transmission fluid

About 2 years ago a single mom friend of mine had a 2005 Honda Odyssey transmission issue. I test drove the car about 2 miles and when we got back to her house the tranny was slipping so badly we literally coasted into her driveway. I called a friend of mine who has a shop and he told me when a Honda transmission gets that bad it needs to be replaced as they are so hard to rebuild. I had had some luck prior using a combination of Valvoline MaxLife and Lucas Transmission fix. So I told her before sinking $5k into a transmission why not give it a try. I changed the transmission using 1 gallon of the MaxLife and a 12 oz bottle of Lucas Transmission fix. Drove her van 10-15 miles and it shifted like new. 60 days later we did the same process withe MAXLIFE and the Lucas but this time changed her transmission filter as well. I saw her today and she said she has had no further transmission issues. Now that is what I call "A FIX." So for about $100 in fluid, filter, and the Lucas, she is still on the road with her '05 Odyssey. You can see the videos I did on Rumble at expdchief just scroll down as it was awhile ago (Dec. 2020).

This isn't terrible fluid but it's definitely not the same formula in the Honda bottles. Sure idemitsu may make the OEM Honda DW1 but this type h fluid is different. Smells different and this fluid is red where as OEM DW1 is a purple ish. If you research this fluid compare to the others you see this is lacking some things. The numbers don't match. When I used this product I noticed the trans was acting funny. Shifts felt wired and was getting a harder downshift. Also turns darker quickly. For 14 dollars a bottle no thanks. Better off going to the dealer paying 10 a qt for the OEM stuff like I recently did, happy to say my trans performance is back to normal after doing 3X drain and fill of the DW1.Honda trans are picky, better off using the OEM. I'd use this in a emergency only if I HAD TO.

The transmission fluid did the trick. The gears engaged without a problem. Smooth sailing from here on. Fram AT Transmission Fluid was the first time ever used on my vehicle. Would recommend it to everyone.

A transmission fluid change is usually half the value of a transmission flush as it requires a lot less fluid and time to perform. Honda transmission fluid changes are highly paramount to keep your vehicle's transmission nice and lubricated. If you don't routinely change your fluids at least every 30,000 miles or so, you may find that your Honda transmission will slip. Check your car's owner's manual for more information on the clear mileage intervals in which your transmission needs the fluid changed. At Coggin Honda Orlando, we offer a range of transmission fluid specials. You can also schedule transmission service online and save even more. if you need help considering fluid levels, pricing, or finding a service center, give us a call at 4079177433 and one of our service advisors will gladly help.

A transmission flush is usually twice the price of a fluid change due to the reward of time the service takes and the fact that the flush not only replaces the fluid in the pan but also removes fluid from the cooler lines and back-up parts of your transmission. A Honda transmission flush also uses about 10 quarts of fluid to altogether clean and flush out the system.

A transmission flush is only essential if your system contains dirt or debris. If the fluid is extremely dark or contains disparate sediments, we would recommend a complete system flush instead of just exchanging the fluid. If you'd like one of our experienced Honda technicians to examine your transmission fluid, book your transmission service online or give Coggin Honda Orlando a call at 4079177433.

Changing your Honda transmission filter isn't as available as added filters in your vehicle. There are multiple components to your transmission filter including the filter itself, which is usually a metal plate with a fiber material that catches pollutants. Your Honda will also contain a pickup tube, gasket, and rubber seal which may all need to be replaced along with the filter. Your Honda transmission filter will need to be replaced every 30,000 or 50,000 miles. Be bold to check your vehicle's maintenance guide for more information on mileage and time intervals. You can also give Coggin Honda Orlando a call for expert advice. If you'd like us to handle your transmission service, we consistently promote transmission service coupons ranging from filter discounts to fluid specials on a monthly basis. Automatic and manual transmission will commonly require divergent fluids. Automatic transmission fluids are typically thinner and are commonly red or green in color. Manual transmission fluid or gear oil is thicker due to additives and alternative compounds decisive to lubricate the gearbox and alternative components. Manual transmissions have a higher friction environment due to the way gears are changed, thus the lubricant is divergent.

Not only are the fluids different between manual and automatic transmissions but the level of heat the fluids experience is very different. Automatic transmissions generate a lot more heat and thus the fluid in your transmission must be changed more consistently. If you don't change your Honda transmission fluid, your transmission will have broken metal shavings and different corrosive material spread throughout the usual components of your Honda. You should consistently check the fluid levels between your fluid and transmission flush service intervals. In several cases, manual transmissions don't come equipped with a dipstick to check your fluid levels, so it can be remarkably difficult to do. Call or visit Coggin Honda Orlando for more information if your transmission doesn't contain a dipstick.

There are different types of transmission fluid, depending on the type of vehicle. The transmission fluid functions as a lubricant for the interval components of the transmission system. This lubrication helps protect the transmission parts from friction and also helps keep the system from overheating. Over time, the transmission fluid of your vehicle can get contaminated or become ineffective, requiring the fluid to be flushed and replaced with new transmission fluid. Before you replace the transmission fluid, make sure you allow our technician to check the system for any leaks. The condition and level of fluid are both important, so we recommend having frequent inspection service for the entire transmission system.

The recommendation for transmission fluid exchange is based on different factors. For most types of cars, this service is required between 30,000 to 60,000 miles, however, this range can vary. If you use your vehicle for towing or other activities that can put excessive stress on the transmission, it might require frequent transmission fluid replacement service. Our technicians can guide you on the ideal service interval. You might want to watch out for some common signs of a faulty or ineffective transmission system including difficulty shifting gears, a sudden surge of the engine, a burning smell, or unusual noise while driving. If you notice any of these, bring your vehicle to our service center for inspection service.

Automatic Transmission Fluid acts to cool and lubricate internal transmission components. Over time, the properties of the fluid diminish and replacement is necessary at the recommended service intervals for your Honda vehicle. An inspection of the transmission, fluid hoses, pipes, and cooler (if equipped) should be performed during recommended maintenance. 041b061a72
